Once you see that your puppy is energetic and upbeat. Take the dog out and let him or her do some exploring. The key is to get your pooch comfortable on a certain spot. Do not get discouraged if your dog does not get the idea the first time. This is normal, but if you are consistent with the potty training, your dog will develop a routine and go to the same spot whenever he or she needs to go. This is considered the fastest way to go in terms of potty training.

One thing you need to keep in mind is to only give rewards if your puppy does the right thing. Never reward your puppy for doing a mistake, but at the same time, do not punish them either because that ruins the momentum that you need in training your dog quickly. Rewards encourage dogs to keep doing the same thing. You can either give some dog treats or go for the simple petting.
