Monday, March 7, 2011

Can a dog obedience training video really train your dog? Have you ever tried a video to train him or her? It is really up to you if you want to use videos to accomplish this. Some people like videos and they prefer them, but there are other people who prefer a book, eBook, an article something in writing. I understand that totally, because there is nothing like having information in writing where you can always go back to and look at. There are benefits to videos, and below we will cover what there benefits are.

* A dog obedience training video is like having someone in your home that knows what they are talking about. Since this person is on a video they should know what they are talking about. Also, imagine how expensive it would be to get this person to come to your home and do this type of training. Here, you will have this trainer in the comfort of your own home but at a much cheaper price.

* A dog obedience training video teaches you how high your voice should be when you doing this type of training. Your voice should be at a certain level, and on a video you can hear the person on how high it should be. Also, you can see how often you should look at your pet. In other words, eye contact! Eye contact in this type of training is important.

* Always be consistent with this dog obedience training video. You need to pick the days of the week, and the times and stay consistent. This way your pet will already know the day and times on when you will play the videos, and you are showing him or her that you are serious about this training.

* We spoke about this briefly before, but a dog obedience training video can be a lot cheaper than hiring an instructor to come into your home and train your buddy. We are living in tough economic times now, and some of these instructors can cost you a pretty penny. At least with the videos, it is like having an instructor but without the price tag that comes with it.

* Are you ready for the last tip? I can't hear you, lol. My dear friends, have patience! A lot of dog owners feel that training their pet with a video they have an expert right there in the home. True, the person in the video should be a very well schooled individual, but you still have to have patience. Why? All dogs are different, and they all learn at a different pace. Don't get frustrated and lose your patience if you see your dog is not learning as fast as you want them to learn. Always remember, not all dogs are the same.

A dog obedience training video can definitely help train your dog in all areas where they need training. Don't forget also that, documentation beats conversation. I know, I know what does this mean? You can also train your dog when you have the information in writing as well.
